about jd
“My love of art started when I first saw "The Raft Of The Medusa" in a high-school art book. I was awestruck by the drama unfolding on this raft of survivors, and how it was being told with this coloured liquid they called paint...”
an analogue start...
jd started out as a true product of his time - Gen X.
"We were pretty well unsupervised most of our so-called upbringing. I once went to the beach with my dog, ended up at a mate's place, and came home 4 days later.. My mother said "I haven't seen you since this morning.."
That experience sums it up for my generation.
Pre-internet, pre-digital, we had time to explore the real world, which lead us to make up worlds in our minds.. the world I made up was full of paint...
I ended up becoming a graphic designer, but I never lost that world of paint.. now I'm glad to say, I'm rediscovering it..
It's a wonderful time to be alive."
